About Abena Rockstar
Bernice Bediako Poku, better known by her stage name, “Abena Rockstar” is a talented writer, composer, singer and rapper from Ghana based in Tema. She is a young and ambitious young woman who has had a burning desire to make music for as long as she can remember. Her first demo, released in Senior High School, was only a manifestation of the talent she began displaying when she was just 9 years of age.
Years after releasing her first demo, she has gone ahead to nurture her skills and grow herself as an artist. She has worked with the likes of Magnom, Peewezel and Jayfyn beatz and released her first official single in 2014
In 2016 however, she was on a different agenda. After building her brand with hard-hitting freestyles and creating a movement for herself, the queen of the ATEAM were able to release her debut EP titled #OFCR (Only Few Can Relate). The EP boasts of an impressive track list that has her signature “punchline filled” rap as well as a few surprises that show how versatile she is as an artist.
The first single off the EP, FOKO, was an inspiring song about the realities of life and the importance of staying true to yourself. It sets the tone for what you should expect from the #OFCR EP. She comes back again with another E.P titled “M.A.F.I.A” literally meaning “May All Fears Inside Abort”.
