#Grammys2022: Angélique Kidjo Beats Wizkid And Others To Win Best World Music Album

Nigerian Afrobeat star, Ayodeji Balogun better known as Wizkid has lost the 64th Grammy Award for Best World Music Album.

At the 2022 Grammy Awards, the legendary singer, songwriter, and performer was nominated in two categories: Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance.

Angélique Kidjo’s “Mother Nature” beat Wizkid’s “Made in Lagos” album. In that category, Nigeria’s Femi Kuti and Made Kuti’s “Legacy” were also nominated.

The highly regarded Grammy Awards gather some of the highly ranked musicians from all over the world to honor the best performers of the previous year. It took place at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas today, March 3rd, 2022.

The event was previously scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on January 31, 2022, but it was postponed and moved to Las Vegas over concerns about the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
