Grammy award-winner – Burna Boy and his mum, who doubles as his manager, Bose Ogulu, have been accused by an American event promoter of extortion.
The event promoter with Instagram handle, ‘@goldmoola’ alleged that he paid Burna Boy $15,000 to perform at his event in Houston, Texas of which Burna posted the flyer on his Instagram and later cancelled it due to extra demand of money.
The show promoter claimed that Bose asked him for an additional payment of $10,000 before Burna Boy would come down from his hotel to perform a few hours to his performance. However, Burna refused to emerge and made a post that the show had been cancelled.
He said he realized then that he was being extorted after Burna and his team fled out of the hotel through the back. He added that a refund of his $15,000 since Burna didn’t perform has proved futile.
