DAP The Contract And Famous Bobson Link Up On ‘Trouble’

Nigerian producer and singer-songwriter, DAP The Contract is preparing our minds and bodies for whatever summer has in its coffers.

Currently based in the states, DAP The Contract put out any new material since the release of his Powers, Vol. 1 (Deluxe Edition) in 2020. He breaks his silence with a new self-produced sublime record titled ‘Trouble’ featuring Famous Bobson.

About DAP The Contract

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and coming from an entirely musical family, DAP started playing the piano at the age of 4, passed his ABRSM Grade 8 Piano with distinction at 13, and went on to attain a DipABRSM Performance Diploma on the Piano at 17. After high school in London, U.K., he attended the Berklee College of Music for two semesters as part of a gap year, with the intention of majoring in Contemporary Writing & Production or Music Production & Engineering. On his departure after the summer, DAP released a mixtape titled GoodBye For Now. In May 2016, he graduated from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a BA in Classics (Latin & Greek) and Computer Music & Multimedia.

He has performed frequently in Providence, RI at Brown University, University of Rhode Island, AS220, Aurora, The Colosseum, Lupos, and opened for Warner Bros. signees Lawrence twice at 2 sold out tour stops at Fete Music Hall in Providence, RI, and at The Queen’s Head Pub in London, UK. He has performed in Lagos, Nigeria at Harbor Point, at Eko Hotel with Bez Idakula, a well known artist (guitarist/singer) in Nigeria, and recently opened for Skepta and Burna Boy at the first annual Nativeland Festival at Muri Okunola Park. He released his fourth mixtape GoodBye For Never, a sequel to GoodBye For Now, on October 27th, 2014, and in late December of 2014 released a joint project entitled Jam On Scones with Shane Chubbz under their duo moniker The Contract, for which they had a release show on November 29th in London at the renowned Saatchi Gallery. In September 2015, he recorded at the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London with grammy award winning “Uptown Funk” producer Mark Ronson after being selected for a competition produced by Converse.

On April 28th 2017, he released the “Two Roads EP”, and followed this later in the year with a series entitled Contract Thursdays (Pt. 1 and Pt. 2). He recently released a collaborative EP entitled Old New Clothes with fellow collaborators Clyde Lawrence and Cody Fitzgerald under the moniker Hi-Lo Jack.

DAP is currently attending Columbia Law School.
