David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, has revealed why and how he collaborated with the Sunday Service Choir on the song “Stand Strong.”
The singer claimed on The Daily Show With Trevor Noah that he recorded the song as a way to push himself as an artist. He went on to say that the Sunday Service Choir and their cover of the RIAA Gold Certified song ‘If’ had inspired him.
Davido revealed that he had attended Kanye West’s private listening party, where he had met with the choir and discussed how they could combine the African sound into their angelic singing.
