Music from Ghana has played a crucial role in boosting the Afrobeat and Afropop genres in other parts of the world. Songs like KiDi’s Touch It, Gyakie’s Forever, Black Sherif’s recent success with Kwaku The Traveller, and Kelvyn Boy’s Down Flat have underscored the potentiality of our music domain and what it can offer in the Afrobeat eco-system.
Ghana music is currently being recognized internationally with the successes of some of the songs mentioned above unlike previously when Nigerian and South African music was the benchmark of African music. You’d see international Afrobeat concerts hand-picked from solely these countries or African acts in the diaspora.
That has changed in recent times with Ghana earning some call-ups to represent the country at top-flight music festivals and concerts.
In this article, we will be sharing with you some of the concerts and music festivals with Ghanaian artists billed to perform. First on the list is SARKODIE
Sarkodie
Sarkodie has been included among the performers who will perform at the Beale Street Music Festival in 2022, alongside other American music heavyweights.
Sarkodie will be performing alongside American stars like Lil Wayne, Meghan The Stallion, Dababy, Waka Flocka, and a plethora of others, putting the Ghanaian flag on the map.
Sarkodie will play on the second day of the festival, which runs from Saturday, April 30th, 2022 through Sunday, May 1st, 2022.
Gyakie
Ghanaian singer-songwriter Gyakie will be performing at the 2022 Afrobeats Festival in Germany slated for the 10th of July 2022. She’s billed to perform alongside Ayra Starr, Fireboy, Ladpoe, Gyakie, Stonebwoy, and a host of others.
In the month of June as well, she will mount the TracemadeinAfrica concert in Portugal. The event is scheduled to happen on the 24th of June through to the 26th of June 2022.
She will be performing along with Stonebwoy, Adekunle Gold, NSG, Fireboy DML and many others.
Stonebwoy

M.anifest & FOKN BOIS
Ghanaian musician M.anifest along with Ghanaian music duo FOKN Bois are billed to perform at the very popular Popkurltureberlin Festival in Germany. This event is slated for the 24-26 of August 2022.
Popkurltureberlin is an annual 3-day festival is focused on live music, talks, exhibitions & film. It draws around 10,000 people to Kulturbrauerei arts complex.
Shatta Wale & Wiyaala
Shatta Wale and Wiyaala have been announced for this year’s SummerStage event, New York City’s beloved outdoor performing arts festival, which will bring approximately 90 free and charity shows to Central Park and 12 neighborhood parks throughout the five boroughs.
Shatta Wale, and globally acclaimed Afropop artiste, Wiyaala, is slated to perform at the Crotona Park on Saturday (Aug. 13th) at 7:00 PM.
Black Sherif
Black Sherif has been booked to perform at the upcoming Afronation Portugal festival slated for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of July 2022. The event, which will take place at ‘The Algrave Portimao’ in Portugal will assemble some of the big names in Afrobeats like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, King Promise, Stonebwoy, and many others who will entertain the patrons with the best songs in their discography.
