I paved the way for Black Sherif, Medikal and others in Nigeria – Shatta Wale

Controversial dancehall singer and songwriter, Shatta Wale, has said that he created opportunities for his colleague musicians in Nigeria.

The Shatta Movement leader noted that his feud with Nigerian artiste and social media users aided some Ghanaian musicians to penetrate the Nigerian music industry.

Speaking on Hitz FM, Shatta Wale said his beef will create more opportunities for the next generation of artistes in Ghana.

“I have created the space for many. And nobody can come and tell me otherwise. Even when I am beefing with Nigerians, I am doing it because of the next generation.

“Now everybody is getting the opportunity. Everybody is going to Nigeria because that awareness is there,” Shatta Wale said.

Shatta Wale added that musicians such as Black Sherif, Medikal and others have been able to make an impact in the Nigerian market because of him.

“I have done things that even if I can’t go to Nigeria, I want to see the Black Sherifs, the Medikals entering there now.

“This is because we now see Nigeria as our America. So we must get the Nigerians’ attention that is why I have sacrificed my life for the industry,” he added.

This comes after the dancehall star descended on Nigerian musicians during his concert on December 25, 2022.

Shatta Wale branded them as ‘stupid’, which caused an uproar between Ghanaian music fans and Nigerians as well.
