Popular music streaming platform, Audiomack indulged popular Nigerian singer-songwriter Joeboy in a short conversation where he was asked to explain the inspiration behind his latest monster hit ‘Alcohol’.
Joeboy via Audiomack’s ‘Quick Hits’ video series narrated how he uses alcohol as a medium of escape hence why he decided to make a song about it. The video was shared via Instagram on Tuesday, the 19th of October 2021.
Joeboy officially premiered Alcohol in the month of September which is last month, his first single after dropping his debut album Somewhere Between Beauty And Magic. The song quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most streamed songs in Africa with the help of a challenge that started on Tiktok.
Regardless of how fast spreading the challenge was taking over social media, things took a turn for worse. People started pouring random drinks and food on themselves which Joeboy himself publicly rebuke the actions of those. He warned his fans not to involved in such dangerous acts and absolved himself of any consequences.
Joeboy spoke with Audiomack in this new video interview, explaining the inspiration behind the new song, Alcohol. Joeboy explained that he is not a drunk but when he faces difficulties in life and needs an escape, he almost always turns to sweet wine.
