Kwame Dame talks about the inspiration behind “This Is Not A Song” below.
“This is not a song is inspired by my pain.I sang about me having two sides,the good and the bad and i won’t allow people who haven’t walked in my shoes dictate how i should behave or who i should be.It talks about how everyone wants to be critic but only few people actually create.
I titled it “This Is Not A Song” because i couldn’t find any other title that fits best and also because the song is me being very open about personal things.
Things i would normally not talk to people about.I talked about how i was tired of being broke and music is my only savior so people who are not willing to help should quit wasting my time and be open to me about their intentions. I spoke about loyalty and how people i call friends turn their backs on me when i needed them most.”
