London Fashion Week Sees Black Sherif Make His Runway Debut

Ghanian artist Black Sherif made his runway debut at London Fashion Week. The partnership between music and fashion allows both industries to benefit from each other’s influence, innovation, and reach, resulting in unique and unforgettable experiences for both fans and consumers. Several African performers, like Davido, Odunsi, and Seun Kuti, have made their runway debuts. This time, it’s Black Sherif’s turn.

Black Sherif walked down the runway for British fashion company Labrum. Established in 2014, this sumptuous fashion business aims to tell West Africa’s hidden stories via contemporary menswear, acting as a bridge between Western and West African cultures. Foday Dumbuya, Founder and Creative Director, designed the exceptional collection.

Via its social media, the fashion house said, “Thank you to the people of LABRUM. We’re able to shine because you allow us to do so. Internally this collection shines a light on the journey from struggle to triumph. Acknowledging those that never lose sight of their vision or end-goal. AW24 utilizes this notion of resilience and joy as a source of inspiration. Celebrating this collective and transformative power of diverse cultures and their contributions to society, culture, and the arts”.
