‘Lot of Ghanaians Do Not Support Me’ – Sarkodie

Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie has opened up about his desire and support he receives from Ghanaians.

In an interview with One Play Africa, Sarkodie said he would still have made it to the top without the support of Ghanaians. He stated that his personal determination and hard work push him to the top, regardless of the support he got from some Ghanaians.

“When people say it is Ghanaians who made you who you are, I don’t deny it. Funnily enough, I wouldn’t have quit either,” Sarkodie said.

According to Sarkodie, a lot of Ghanaians still do not support him, even though he has been consistent for the past ten years.

“I do this not because I get all the support. There are a lot of people who do not support me or like what I do. When Ghanaians say they have been supporting for 10 years, it is not.” he added.

Sarkodie expressed that his career would have fell off had he paid attention to the naysayers who criticized him harshly.

He revealed that most of his colleagues were not able to handle the pressure, which is why their respective careers grounded to a premature halt.
