Daniel Benson, better known by his stage as BNXN, will face consequences for spitting on an officer, according to Ben Hundeyin, a spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command.
Remember that a video that went viral on Wednesday, August 17, showed a visibly irritated BNXN parked down in an undisclosed area in Lagos, backed by armed police officers who were engaging in verbal sparring with a bystander who appeared to be in the artist’s company.
BNXN (aka Buju) admitted in since-deleted tweets that he had been in the alleged incident with the Nigerian police, adding that the officer had torn his shirt and slapped him. He stated:
Spat in a police officer’s face and it felt so good. I let you in my car and you dragged and tear my shirt, and start slapping me? (Sic) Nah, everybody must stop!
@BNXN proudly tweeted that he ‘spat in [sic] a police officer’s face and it felt so good.’ He has since deleted the tweet. The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer. pic.twitter.com/Ie20NJRqOv
