Sarz Unites Wizkid, Asake, Fireboy DML & More on Debut Album ‘Protect Sarz at All Costs’

After years of shaping the sound of modern Afrobeats, legendary producer Sarz has finally released his highly anticipated debut album, Protect Sarz at All Costs. The project serves as a masterclass in innovation, blending global influences while staying rooted in the rhythms that have made African music a worldwide phenomenon.

The album opens with “Grateful,” a soulful dedication featuring WurlD and the Ndlovu Youth Choir, setting a reflective yet expansive tone. From there, Sarz showcases his unparalleled curatorial skill, bringing together an impressive lineup of artists from across the Black diaspora. Tracks like “BMF” unite Fireboy DML and Kittitian dancehall star Byron Messia, while “Belle” delivers an orchestral posse cut with ODUMODUBLVCK, Shallipopi, French-Congolese singer Theodora, and Canadian vocalist Zeina.

The album also includes standout contributions from Wizkid, Asake, Skillibeng, and Lojay—artists Sarz believes have unlocked new dimensions of their artistry through these collaborations. “If there’s something I know I possess as a skill, it’s just knowing how to collaborate with anyone,” Sarz shared with Apple Music. “Most of the people on this album never sounded like this before.”

Protect Sarz at All Costs isn’t just a title—it’s a statement. As Sarz explains, the phrase symbolizes the need to protect the creative spirit within everyone. With this album, he not only solidifies his legacy but also maps an ambitious, borderless future for Afrobeats.
