Drill and Grime are burgeoning genres in the African music space especially here in Ghana. The brewing Asakaa phenomenon which is a community of drill rappers and producers gave a spotlight to drill music made in Africa.
Few guys in Nigeria have joined the Drill music frenzy but there’s one particular record making rounds on the internet and going viral. The Igbo drill record starting gaining popularity on TikTok via the numerous videos posted by users on there dancing to it.
The song titled ‘Looseguard’ by Styles with the mantra ‘I See, I Saw, I See Snake Agwo’ is quite distinct from the other drill songs we have heard. The stomping and frenetic drill ticks smack different and offers a perfect seat to the rap-sung Igbo verse.
This song deserves all the hype and attention it is receiving.
