Highly decorated Nigerian Afrobeat star, Wizkid on the 5th of December 2021 was awarded the Best African Music act at the just ended 2021 MOBO Awards which was held in the United Kingdom.
Wizkid was in contention with CKay, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Tems, NSG, King Promise and Ayra Starr for this enviable award.
The MOBO Awards is an annual British awards ceremony that celebrates achievements in “music of black origin”. The show honors the best of the best in Hip-Hop, Grime, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, and African Music. The 2021 edition of the MOBO Awards was held at Coventry’s CBS Arena on Sunday, the 5th of December 2021.
The show also saw Afrobeat powerhouses, Tiwa Savage present an award while Tems also performed on stage.
