VGMA21: Kofi Kinaata wins Songwriter of the Year for a Record Third Time

Gifted Ghanaian singer and songwriter – Kofi King Arthur widely known as Kofi Kinaata sets a record as the first Ghanaian artiste to win the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ‘Songwriter Of The Year Award’ category for a record third time.

Kofi Kinaata beats the record which was jointly held by the Legendary Okyeame Kwame and Kojo Antwi whom won it twice.

Kofi Kinaata inked his name into the record books after winning the VGMA 2021 Songwriter of the Year with his raving success single, ‘Things Fall Apart‘.

The first phase of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2021 event was held virtually on August 28 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Susuka’ and ‘Confession’ won in the same category at the 2016 and 2017 VGMAs respectively.

In a tweet, Kofi Kinaata wrote: “First time in the history of #VGMAs! An artiste has won this Songwriter Award for the 3rd time ✌🏾+☝🏾= 3 Thanks to God! 🙏🏾 Thanks to all my fans worldwide. #TeamMooove”
